“I don’t see myself ever doing a ‘normal’ Movie or Book. I love the creation of these things.

Who is Richard Young ?

Richard Young has been many things: a pilot, military photographer, film technician, and more. However, none of these have been as profound as being a diabetes survivor. The experience had left him with a deep-seated desire to help those who would be hit by the shocking news of their diagnosis. Hence, he published a guide specifically for just that titled “Understanding Diabetes Type 2.” He will be exhibiting the book at a book festival at Printers Row, Chicago in September.
Most people who would meet Richard Young wouldn’t know he was an advocate for diabetes awareness. He spent over 20 years in video and film making at Raytheon Aircraft. His background was in electronic communication and not healthcare. He had even learned how to fly at the young age of nineteen!

The Plan to spread the news
As part of his plan to widen the book’s reach, Young has arranged to have it exhibited at book events. The self-publishing and book marketing company ReadersMagnet will display the book at a book fest at Printers Row, which will take place on September 3-4, 2025, at South Dearborn Street, from Ida B. Wells to Polk Street, Chicago. Visit the ReadersMagnet exhibit at to check out the book display.
